These days there are many companies who are currently concentrating on the way of making each and every chemical in the world, so we have come to the point where it is very easy to get hold of.Chemicals are very important components for almost everything. From fruits and vegetables to building materials, water, bio-fuels, medicines, skin creams, etc... They are also used to make soap, detergents, cosmetics, and many other chemicals and equipments. You can make your own chemical products from the following chemicals:To produce the cleanest and best quality paper, you need two things: water and quality paper. Without the water, the paper is unreadable, and if you don't produce the best quality paper, it will be unusable. Not only that, you also need to be awa re of the type of paper you need to produce. If you aren't careful, the paper could be contaminated with viruses or bacteria and this would result in poor quality results and even blockage. If you want to keep your work areas safe, it's important to protect these areas from all possible means of contamination. However, even though it's easy to prevent contamination, it's still best to be prepared. When working in the workplace, it's always good to take precautionary measures to avoid accident. You should follow the proper safety precautions when you're in close contact with other workers, especially those who are using chemical products. How to Show Initiative in Your Summer Internship
How to Show Initiative in Your Summer Internship Image via pixabay.com Network while you can Summer internships are the perfect opportunity to network with both professionals in your desired field and your fellow interns. Instead of limiting your interaction with the companys employees to only when you are required to talk to them for an assigned task, take initiative and introduce yourself to those employees that you sit next to in the break room or meet during meetings. Having company employees know you by both name and face will do wonders for your time in the summer internship and even after. If you stay connected to company employees after your summer internship, you have an active connection you can use as a reference for future positions and a person to help you if you seek a job in that company full-time. If they know you by both name and face, they will be more likely to give you a recommendation and an even more thorough one as they are more likely to know you as a potential employee. The worst thing that could happen if you fail to take advantage of your summer internship as a place to network is being known as that summer intern and being forgotten as soon as a new intern is hired. Along with networking with established employees, talk to fellow summer interns if you are not the only one. Networking with fellow interns will give you the chance to have someone help you on a professional and personal level as you are likely to be going through the same things as summer interns. It also shows your ability to collaborate with coworkers if you are taking initiative to reach out to another employee on your own. Be in the know Depending on your level of experience in the career field associated with your summer internship, knowledge of what you are actually doing may vary. If the summer internship is more hands-on (like working in a lab, shadowing a professional), you may already be expected to have a better grasp of what you are supposed to be doing. Prepare yourself by researching the type of work you will be doing beforehand. Research the company and what they are known for. Look at their growth and recent projects so you get a feel for the company atmosphere, work, and where they are headed in the future. If an employee asks you about something that happened in the company recently and you have no knowledge of it, you can look uninterested in the company you are interning for. If you are ready to discuss the issue, it shows that you took initiative to make yourself more aware of the company news and will be more involved with the company you are interning with. Ask questions Regardless of whether it is in a classroom setting or in the workplace, many are afraid to ask questions in fear of looking clueless. However, the benefits of asking questions outweigh whatever you think someone may think of you if you ask a dumb question. Not only do you look interested in the subject at hand if you are asking questions, you also are showing that you are ready to learn. When you just nod along when receiving instruction and always say no when asked if there are any questions, there is little to no conversation generated. Asking questions creates some back-and-forth and some questions can even be accompanied with tips from established employees, making whatever task given a lot easier and giving you know-hows when pursuing a full-time position in the future. If you ask questions about something you do not know prior to handling a task, any possible negativity surrounding you asking any number of questions will outweigh the negativity that can occur when you do the task wrong and make more work for yourself or other employees to fix the mistake. Consider your future and there is a possibility of you continuing to work with the company. Ask whoever you report to if there are any openings for other positions or what you would need to do in order to apply for a full-time position in the future. Asking questions about staying within the company shows that you are invested in the company and that they should invest back if you are a potential long-term employee.

Should you take a second internship
Should you take a second internship Tips From an Orange County College Consultant: 5 Things to Think About Before Doing a Second Internship Tips From an Orange County College Consultant: 5 Things to Think About Before Doing a Second Internship Many students will be excited to have the opportunity to work as an intern while they are an undergraduate. Although many internships are unpaid, they can provide valuable work experience and help students get a foot in the door with their favorite company. The first time around most students will need enough elective units that they can justify spending part of their summer without getting paid. However, taking a second internship the following summer can be subject to different circumstances. Perhaps the student no longer needs the units or maybe they simply need to earn some money to subsidize the cost of ever increasing post-secondary education. Whatever their personal circumstances might be, itâs prudent to think about several things before agreeing to a second internship (READ: Unpaid Internships: Weighing the Options). 1. Will this internship provide additional work experience? Some students may be seeking a second internship because they learn that their original choice of major was not a good fit. In this case, an additional internship in a new field may provide experience valuable enough to be worth the effort. Spending a month or so working in the field is a great way to determine whether or not a specific career goal is a good idea. If a second internship will provide an entirely different skill set upon completion, it may very well be worth it paid or unpaid. 2. Is the internship paid at minimum wage or above? Another thing students should ask themselves is if they will earn any money over the summer. If the internship is a paid opportunity at minimum wage or above, it sounds like a good idea. Students who need to make money could either make it doing something they find especially dry or while learning valuable job skills. Paid internships are a good option. Unfortunately, the majority of undergraduate internships are unpaid. In this case, would a second internship in the same field really help the student? If they can still get college credit they actually need or if they are making excellent career connections it may be worth it. However, if its simply a repeat of the first summer, it might end up being a poor use of time. 3. Can the student use it as part of a special project with their school? Students entering specialized fields may be involved in special projects such as independent or collaborative research. If working as an intern can somehow contribute to this project, it might be a very interesting experience overall. Because each studentâs situation will be unique in this case, they should ask themselves the following questions. Will their supervising professors support their internship as part of the project? How will they describe or justify their internship within their research paper? Will they receive relevant credit toward their degree? Because there are so many variables when it comes to independent projects itâs a good idea to get something official in writing from the school and the company before proceeding. 4. Is this internship a temp to hire position? Some internships can serve as a temp to hire position. In this case, a second internship might be an excellent idea. If a company is interested in a student who will be graduating in a year and they want to offer them an opportunity to get their foot in the door prior to graduation, they may offer a temp to hire position. Although most of these come after graduation, some companies will recruit students in high demand fields. Having a full time job secured before graduation would be excellent for any student; however, its important to look at the fine print in these types of situations (READ: Why You Should Study Abroad). 5. Can the student get important information in writing? If a student is considering a temp to hire internship or a second internship, its important to make sure they get any important information or guarantees in writing. A company that says they would like to hire a student upon graduation but isnt willing to put it in an official offer may not be in a position to follow through. Verbal agreements generally arent worth much and are undocumented. If a student is truly taking on an internship because they feel they will be hired upon completion, they must absolutely have some sort of written job offer, even if there are contingencies, in writing and signed by a representative of the company authorized to make such a promise. If this is not the situation its better to think about taking the internship on as part of college credit or choosing something else to do over the summer. How to Prep for Regents Exams
How to Prep for Regents Exams Nearly all public high schools in New York State require their students to pass some number of Regents Exams in order to graduate with a Regents Diploma. By examining competency in the areas of English, math, science, and social studies, Regents Exams test student readiness for post-high school education, as well as provide measures upon which to gauge school district and teacher efficacy. Regents Exams are usually administered to students after completion of coursework corresponding to the tested material; for example, the geometry exam would be given to students who have completed or who are about to complete a high school geometry course. Many students find that they need to review relevant material prior to taking a Regents Exam. If you are getting ready to take one of these important exams, consider using these guidelines as you prepare for test day: 1. Take a practice test to assess your strengths and weaknesses The New York State Education Department posts past official Regents Exams on its website, and these serve as fantastic diagnostic tools for prospective test-takers. Before you begin reviewing, take the time to take one of these past tests to find out on which topics you should most concentrate your studying. Also pay attention to other issues that you may have to address as you prepare, such as being comfortable with all question formats and effectively using your time. You may wish to look into Regents tutoringas well. 2. Select and review relevant course material Chances are that you wont have enough time to review every topic you learned over the course of a year in preparation for your Regents Exam. Instead, you must choose the topics on which you wish to focus wisely. Use your diagnostic exam as a guide to decide upon which topics are worthy of thorough review and which you have already mastered. Make a list of topics you must review and plot out how you will allot your study time up until the exam. Remember to avoid cramming too many topics into short periods of time; each topic should get an amount of time proportional to both its weight on the test and its complexity. 3. Familiarize yourself with the question types Youve surely heard that practice makes perfect, and in the world of Regents Exams, this adage remains true. Regents Exams consist of both multiple-choice questions and those where you need to provide a written answer, all of which you must know how to tackle by test day. Supplement your content review by consistently completing all formats of Regents Exams questions. Make sure you take the time to go over your completed questions, comparing your answers to answer keys and making careful note of any information you did not know or omitted. Use the accuracy of your answers to gauge how your content review is going and adjust your study habits if needed. 4. Take a fewmore practice tests to identify any test-taking weaknesses or topics you may have missed Comprehensive practice tests should be the cornerstone guiding your test prep, as they can help you identify any global test-taking issues you might be having. Taking them periodically throughout your preparation can help you improve issues like difficulty managing time, test anxiety, and endurance problems, all to help you become a more effective test-taker. In addition, taking full tests can help you identify if youre missing any topics in your studying or if youre delving too deeply into certain topics. Full-length practice tests are perhaps the best way to assess your progress and to guide changes to study content and practices. Any topics you want to know more about? Let us know! 5 Must-Read Tips if You Want to Get Signed as a Singer
5 Must-Read Tips if You Want to Get Signed as a Singer Suzy S. Do you dream of getting a record deal? Here, Santa Monica, CA singing teacher Lauren C. shares her tips for breaking into the industry and getting your voice heard I coach a lot of young singers who aspire to secure record label deals and establish successful music careers. Some of my students have secured contracts with labels like Motown Records, and I myself have recorded with Grammy-award winning producers in Los Angeles and recorded tracks with chart-topping artists. So, what are the labels looking for today? What tips can you employ to get ahead in the cutthroat, competitive world of recording music? Heres my best advice on how to get a record deal and make it in the industry. Do invest in voice lessons. We live in the era of The Voice, after all, and there is a taste for truly good vocalists in the entertainment industry as much as ever before perhaps more than ever before. We are in a golden age of vocal acrobats and technique. Itâs hard to compete in this saturated market if you do not have real chops. There are always unique and untrained voices in the world of pop and rock, but its important to learn to sing in a healthy way to preserve your voice for many years. You will also more easily and quickly expand your range, and diversify the tones and vocal colors at your disposal. A good teacher will never hinder your style or your unique tone he or she will help you sing with healthy technique and increase your vocal potential. And gone are the days that voice teachers only teach classical technique. Many of us are still grounded in this technique; I am. But these days, many teachers teach all styles (I do) or are particularly suited to a particular singing style or genre. Find a teacher you gel with, and commit to years of study and regular vocal exercise. The Internet is your friend. Use it. We are all familiar with artists who have broken on the Internet. If you want to gain exposure, you donât need to wait to get signed; in fact you need to start gaining exposure and attracting fans before a label is going to look at you these days. Create a YouTube channel, join SoundCloud and post your tracks, join TuneCore and distribute your own music via iTunes and Spotify, and check out ReverbNation. Utilize all social media platforms to cross-publicize your work. Post your latest SoundCloud release on Twitter, on your Facebook fan page, etc. Comment on and follow other artists to expand your network and get their comments and likes back. But donât forget the Internet is not everything. Sing locally. Sing at your school, church, find a local open mic, get a permit to busk if there is an area in your city this is popular (like the 3rd Street Promenade here in California). Also, network make human contact and collaborate with other local musicians. Try co-writing most songs are NOT written by just one person. Check out Musicnotes.com and download your favorite pop song. Chances are you will see at least two co-writing credits. Try to connect with people who may have more experience or knowledge than you, and see if they are interested in collaborating. Also, take constructive criticism along the way the only way to get better is to take notes, and improve what you need to improve. Opinions are subjective, but take it on board and see if it resonates with you. Always strive to improve. Note the difference between recording in the studio and performing live. Both are important, but they are two different animals. In the recording studio, the microphone is like a camera it captures everything. So never feel bad if you need a little auto-tune. Auto-tune is like Photoshop. A skilfull producer will auto-tune your tracks so that they sound tuned to the natural ear. You may sing very close to perfect tuning live, but in the studio, a fraction off is picked up and we hear it. Do find producers or a studio you can record some demos with. In the long run, you really want to produce commercial-quality tracks to be taken seriously by labels. And note that long before you have a label, you can get licensing deals on your own and get your songs into a film, commercial, or video games if the recordings are professional enough. Sometimes this is what brings more attention from labels and managers. On the other hand, working with producers can be expensive. If you are just starting out, see if you can find a less-experienced producer, and try to negotiate an affordable fee to start learning the ropes of singing in the studio. It can be nerve-wracking. Here are some additional tips for singing in a studio: Always warm up thoroughly before you begin. Do a full take through of the song, then go back to repeat sections or lines until you are in love with the delivery. When a take is the one, you always know! Unlike singing live, most recordings are takes spliced together. Remember that everyone is unique. What you do may not be what Rihanna does. Be kind to yourself and just focus on getting a great result. Finally, just as you would for singing live, stay hydrated with water, and use lozenges like Ricola. Split up a session over a few days if you need to. Determine what makes you unique. As a recording artist, you are a brand. This is different from someone working in musical theatre, for example that performer is pursuing auditions, getting hired, playing a role already written, and has probably performed dozens of times. You are more or less fitting a mold and doing a job for hire. But when you are a recording artist, you have the opportunity to be your own boss, write your own material, and create your own opportunities. To get ahead, you will need to define what is unique about your music, your voice, and your brand. So take some time to develop this, and think about all aspects of your brand. What do people see when you walk in the room? Is your look working for or against you? Think about clothes, artwork for albums, production styles, instruments, and vocal delivery and tone. Are you a power rock belter? Are you a subdued singer-songwriter? What about your voice is helping or hurting you when you try to convey your style? If youre wondering how to get a record deal, these tips will help your brand stand out to reps. And that will lead you down the path to a successful music career.
